 Špičák

Description

Špičák (611 m a.s.l.) is a basaltic monadnock that is located 2 kilometres in southeastern direction from Kozelka. Špičák is a relict of old volcano conduit and is created by basalt. Basalt is more resistant than other rocks in the surroundings. So the monadnock towers over the surrounding relief. On the western slope of Špičák we can find numerous rock outcrop with basalt columns. It´s shape is asymmetric and is noticeable influenced by erosional activity of Starý potok (Starý stream).
